Style Icon: Vanessa Hudgens

Hello Everybody !

Today, I’m going to be writing about one of my style icons- Vanessa Hudgens.

From High School Musical to Coachella 2k15, Vanessa Hudgens has always had amazing fashion sense in my eyes. Obviously the outfits in HSM now are very outdated but, when I was younger I adored them. When Vanessa was pictured in Coachella I think my jaw dropped. She looked stunning, her hair, makeup and outfit was on point. Her fashion sense has made her grow into a beautiful young woman, she has to be in my top 5 favourite female celebrities.

I loved the boho chic style Vanessa had going on. With the ripped, distressed shorts and a plaid flannel around the waist with a plain t-shirt, she really rocks this look. I love how laid back and hipster looking it all is. She has so many different looks that she wears and lets be real here she rocks ALL of them.

I also love her winter style, like in the pictures above the camel coat and black jeans really appeal to me, she looks stunning with her hair down and this choice of clothing.

That’s all from me, hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know in the comments below your style icon/s.

The Christmas Tag

Hello guys, today I am going to be doing the Christmas Tag !! As Christmas Day is just around the corner, I thought this would be appropriate.

  1. What’s your favourite holiday movie?

I have far too many but, I love: The Grinch, Love Actually, Jingle All The Way, Elf, The Holiday and Ice Quake

2. What’s your favourite Christmas colour?

Probably a deep burgundy red because, it just screams Christmas whenever it’s on my nails or on a Christmas ornament etc.

3. Do you like to stay in your pj’s or dress up for christmas?

Until about 12pm I’m in my pajamas and then I usually get ready for Christmas dinner at 3pm.

4. If you could only buy one present this year, who would it be for?

Probably my mom because, she’s been through a lot this year and has put up with me and looked after me so, I would love to give back to her.

5. Do you open your presents Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

Definitely Christmas Morning, I know different cultures open them on Christmas Eve, and I did it once with my dad and had Christmas Day on Christmas Eve with him and then Christmas Day with my mom (does that even make sense? no) If your family does that let me know and why.

6. Have you ever built a gingerbread house?

Yes, I’m yet to do one this year but, I’d love too.

7. What do you like to do on your Christmas break?

If I’m being honest, nothing. Because, I just love to have a break from the pressure and commitment of school and spend quality time with my Mom, Dad and Nan.

8. Any Christmas wishes?

This year definitely for world peace, because of everything that has been happening it’s really scary and I can’t imagine how the thousands of families have been affected. Also for my family to get everything they deserve because, they’re such good people.

9. Favourite Christmas smell?

100% a real Christmas tree, you just can’t beat it. Also the smell of Christmas dinner cooking and warm mince pies smell incredible.

10. Favourite Christmas meal or treat?

Probably Christmas J20’s I love the new ones that they’ve come out with this year that are limited edition for Christmas. But, I’m also quite sad they haven’t brought the glitter berry one out this year. Sorry if you have no idea what I’m on about, Google them aha. I also do love mice pies and whipped cream, they’re my fave.

That is all the questions for today! I love how I’ve got back into the swing of blogging, I enjoy it thoroughly.

Merry Christmas!

All the love,

Jess x

Gigi Hadid: Makeup Tutorial

Today, I decided to do a Gigi Hadid makeup look as she is the person I look up to most in terms of beauty and fashion. I love how natural and laid back her looks are and she is just gorgeous. I didn’t obviously get the exact look I wanted because I was just using products similar and I did my makeup myself where as she might do things slightly different. So if you want to see how I achieved this look then read ahead!

These are the photos I was looking at while doing the makeup look, a gorgeous dewy, bronzed look with a simple gold toned eyeshadow, messy brows and a natural nude lip. This look is great for everyday when you’re going out with friends or having a nice day out.

Post Shave Balm – Nivea

Which I use a primer because it has glycerine in it which makes your makeup stay on all day long.

Wake Me Up Foundation in Porcelain – Maybelline

This gives that glowy and dewy look that GiGi always seems to have.

Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair – Collection 2000

Banana Powder  – Anastasia Beverly Hills

I set my concealer with this powder because it cancels out any dark eye circles

Stay Matte Powder in Transparent – Rimmel

We want a dewy look but, for our makeup to stay on all day so I still used a powder.

Fawn Powder – Anastasia Beverly Hills

I used this shade to contour because as you can see GiGi has incredibly bronzed and contoured cheeks.

Havana and Java – Anastasia Beverly Hills

I mix these together to get a warm bronzed look, I apply this on the top of my forehead and temples and just lightly over my contour.

Dusky Pink Blush – Natural Collection

I lightly dust this on the apples of my cheeks, GiGi doesn’t have a flushed look but you can see in some of the photos a slight pink glimmer.

Undress Your Skin Highlight – MUA

This highlight creates the dewy and glowy look GiGi aquires, the highlight is the most important part. Apply this to the top of the cheek bones, the cupids bow and in the centre of the forehead.

Heaven – Too Faced

This eyeshadow is in the Natural Eyes palette and creates a lovely vanilla base.

Chesnut – Makeup Revolution London and Honey Pot – Too Faced

The following shades are all from the Beyond Flawless palette, put this light gold colour all over the lid with Honey Pot from the Natural Eyes palette.

Bronze – Makeup Revolution London

I put this all in my crease to give it more dimension and built it up as I went.

Ground Brown – Makeup Revolution London

I used this in my outer V to give the eyes more dimension and gold shimmer.

Blackheart – Makeup Revolution London

I used this black shade with an angled brush along my lashline and then blended it out to give the impression of a thicker lashline.

Strawberry Blonde brow pencil – MAC

I used this by following my natural brow shape and not making it too neat because GiGi has very messy undone brows.

In Extreme Dimension Mascara – MAC

This mascara gave my lashes volume and length all at the same time, of course you can add lashes but, I just find them uncomfortable and simply can’t apply it.

Mink Lipstick – New Look

If you didn’t know already New Look have come out with a beauty line and their lipsticks are incredible and are nourished with Vitamin E, which moisturises the lips.

Nude Muse Lipgloss – Avon

I applied this on top of the lipstick to give it a sheen.

And that is all for the makeup look! I hope you enjoyed and re create it sometime. Of course you can be inspired by this makeup look and switch it up to whatever products you own or change bits of the look.

Natural Autumn Makeup Look

Hello everyone so, long time no see. I managed to fix my camera, there was something wrong with the lens. I’m about to show you a look that I’ve been doing a lot through the the beginning of Autumn so if you want to see what I’ve been doing carry on reading.

(Disclaimer – I moisturised before I did this look but didn’t take any photos, I use the Nivea day moisturiser)

First of all I prime my face with the Mac Fix+ which you’ve seen me rave about a lot on my blog.

I then use the Mac Studio Fix foundation which is a gorgeous full coverage foundation. However I use the foundation sparingly so it gives a lighter coverage, it’s easily buildable though.

The concealer I use on a day to day basis is the Collection 2000, I don’t rate it as much as other bloggers and you tuber do because I find it really cakes up. Please leave some good high coverage lightweight concealer a down below if you know any.

I then use the Mac Studio Fix powder which is incredible, I only use it lightly when I’m wearing foundation  and concealer though because then my face looks cakey but, it really does keep my base on all day.

To contour and highlight, I use the Maybelline Mastersculpt in light/medium. Which is amazing for my very pale skin. The only thing I would say is that the highlight is very chalky and causes a lot of fallout meaning waste product other than that it’s gorgeous.

I then went on to use the Sleek blush in Flushed. It’s a gorgeous dark pink perfect for the autumn time, I find red blushes don’t suit me so I tend to stick to the more pinky peach shades.

On to the eyes, I used two palettes. One that is full of gold/brown shimmer shades, I have no idea what the brand is, and the second one is the Benefit World Neutrals palette.

First of all I used ‘Call My Buff’ from the World Neutrals Palette as a base colour and then added Taupe from the other palette on top.

In the crease I used a mixture of Baroque and Downtown. I then blended that in well before applying ‘Kiss Me, I’m Tipsy’ In the outer v of my eyelid. And that is all I did for the eye’s, of course you can adapt it to what products you have and what suits you best.

Before moving on to eyeliner I used my ‘Stila Stay All Day’ eyebrow pencil in Auburn to fill in and shape my brows.

A trick I do for my eyeliner is create 4 dots across my eyelid as close to the lash line as possible and to create a flick I put one in the crease of my eye and then another one futher up. I do this so it’s easier for me to know where I’m going with the eyeliner pen and to create a crisp line I usually apply tape just below the the dots lie. I’m sure there are tutorials out there on how to do it if you didn’t quite get my explanation.

I always curl my lashes before mascara because it makes the world of a difference, the mascara I’m using is the Loreal Wonderful Lash, I love this mascara because it just works really well and is lovely for everday use.

Finally, I did do a red lip at first but, I felt it washed me out a lot. To make it more autumnal a red lip will work very well. I just had to make do with a nude lip as I’ve never really experimented with a red lip. I used Mac Viva Glam ll and Avon Lipgloss in Nude Muse

I hope you enjoyed this makeup look, if you want me to find a link for any of the products mentioned let me know and I’ll be sure to do that. Have a wonderful evening/night/morning. This is the full look:

American Beauty Wishlist

Hello everybody, on the 26th October I am off to Washington for 2 days and then I have a coach transfer to NY which I am so excited about. I am also going to be doing a tiny bit of shopping. I will be shopping in 5th Avenue and Times Square ! I’m ecstatic so, I am going to be showing you my ‘wish list’ or what I plan on buying.

There is a Sephora in 5th Avenue and Times Square so, I had a browse through the website and have had a look at the things I’d like.

The first thing I have being eyeing up for a while is the Too Faced Melted liquid lipstick in ‘Berry Red’ It’s such a gorgeous deep, daring, burgundy red. I really hope I can get my hands on it.

The second thing is the Nars Laguna Bronzer. The amount of times I have heard a YouTuber or a Blogger rave about this bronzer is un real. It looks amazing and I’m definitely a bronzer person over a blusher person.

The last thing that I would really like from Sephora is the Daisy Dream Marc Jacobs perfume, I went on holiday in easter and smelt this in duty-free and I haven’t stopped wanting it. It’s cheaper in the US than the UK so, that’s why I’ve waited. It’s a gorgeous scent.

There’s also a MAC but, I think I’ll get the MAC products from duty-free because of the cheaper price.

I would love to make my own custom duo palette with the shades ‘Vanilla’ and ‘Cork’ because Cork looks like my eyebrow colour and would be a lovely crease colour on top of Vanilla as the base.

I’m also contemplating on getting a lipstick but, I already would like the Melted one. Please leave suggestions in the comments of nice Mac lipsticks.

Victorias Secret is one of my favourite shops so I’m going to invest in 5 sprays of theirs. That’s probably a little bit excessive but, in the UK VS is very rare to come by. I’d love

‘Mango Temptation’

‘Love Addict’

‘Secret Charm’

‘Coconut Passion’

and ‘Pure Seduction’

I have smelt all of these so, I’m not guessing what I’d like. I love all of these scents.

There’s Forever 21 in 5th Avenue and Times Square so, of course I will be doing a huge spree in there and I might pick up a few things from the Nike Store. Please let me know anything you recommend from Sephora, MAC or VS/Pink.

Sorry I haven’t been posting my camera has broken, and I don’t know how to fix it so, I’m going to have to wait to get it fixed. So sorry.

Review: Mac Prep and Prime Fix+

This is a review of the Mac Prep and Prime Fix+ Spray, if you have tried this feel free to leave your opinion on it. I hope you enjoy.

This is what Mac claims the spray does: “A lightweight, mineral rich finishing mist that refreshes the skin and finishes makeup. Helps create an even surface for a smooth makeup application”

I spray this before and after my makeup. I think it creates a lovely base for the makeup and really preps your face for the makeup. When I apply foundation with it goes on smoothly and creates a gorgeous flawless look when I don’t use it I find it doesn’t look as flawless. I also have extremely dry skin but, when I spray this after my moisturiser it really nourishes and hydrates the skin, it doesn’t leave your face feeling dry. I feel like it makes your skin look so smooth and fresh and your makeup stays on all day with this. It does not move what so ever.

I also spritz it on my face after I have done my makeup to ensure my makeup doesn’t move, the spray sets your makeup and does a lovely job of making your skin look glowy and hydrated. I also don’t find you have to wait a while for it to absorb into the skin, almost immediately it absorbs.

If you have dry skin, oily skin or combination this will do the job no matter what skin type: It will ensure your makeup stays on for ages and will hydrate your skin making it look fresh and healthy. Overall this is an amazing product if you’re looking for a primer/setting spray and are willing to pay the high-end price. I highly recommend.

If you want to purchase this product click here.

I hope you enjoyed this review and I’ll see you next Thursday with another blog post.
